Twitter, Jott, & Amy WineHouse
March 29, 2007 on 12:16 am | In Web 2.0 | No Comments
Ok, those keywords will NEVER ever be typed in a search engine together… and if they were, I’d love to know who did it! I just felt like posting three cool things I’ve learned about this week:
- www.twitter.com - this thing is taking of like MAD! Also check out TwitterVision.com
- www.amywinehouse.com - this sultry, tat’d, hot singer is on my new fav list!
- www.jott.com — i haven’t used it, and i think it is stupid, but need a third to post.
Develop Web Sites with No Coding
March 19, 2007 on 7:25 pm | In Web Development, Web 2.0 | No Comments
If you are llke me, and are not the best programmer/coder/software engineer, but dream up ways to solve needs with web sites… then you should check out these online platforms that make it rather easy to build dynamic web sites with no coding.
I became addicted to Ning about 8 months ago when it came out and created these two apps in about a week. I realized rather quickly, however, that to generate revenue I would have to hire software engineers to provide a service that was truly differentiated. Ning charges you $8/month to run ads, such as Google adsense, on your Ning app, and unless you are pulling in enough traffic to generate more than $10/month then it isn’t worth it. However, if you have a great database of all Brew Pubs in US, for instance, you could easily build an app/map with these apps, and likely make some good ad revenue.

Free Video iPod, not a scam!
February 22, 2007 on 7:51 pm | In Web 2.0 | No Comments
If you like Reality TV and want the most bad ass video iPod w/ an 80GB hard drive in it, then I’ve found the best possible odds online for you to get one. My pals over at RealityRealm.com want more members, and get this… they are giving away one of these iPod’s to 1-in-every-100 new members! You can’t sign up more than once though, and if you become active on the site by posting then your odds increase even more.
Honestly, I think they are a little crazy to run this promotion, but I know the founders well, and they’ve already bought 10 of these iPod’s for roughly $4,000… so I know they’re serious.
Since you can only sign up once, TELL YOUR FRIENDS! I’d rather myself or someone I know win, than someone I don’t know.
RealityRealm.com Launches!
December 18, 2006 on 1:19 pm | In Web 2.0 | No Comments
A friend of mine launched RealityRealm.com this past month, which is the best friggin’ Reality TV & Celebrity Fan site in the universe! It’s actually quite impressive already, as they have a ton of shows, videos, forums, blogs, chat, the whole nine.
He’s even got a PR guy in Hollywood who is building up their MySpace page… and check out who is on their MySpace friend list! Talk about the Whose Who of Reality TV?! I’ve got a lot of faith in this guy to build a very kick ass community… check it out!
I’ve also been asked to let you all know about this:
WANTED: Moderators
RealityRealm.com is currently seeking hardcore Reality TV fans to be Moderators on our site. With over 250 reality shows, and currently only about 10 on our site, this is a huge opportunity to run your own show! You have the tools to post videos, news, oversee forums, and likely interview the celebrities on your show.
Add us as a friend on our MySpace Profile and then message us with your interest.
Cheers,
-Will

Google’s secret SearchMash.com
October 5, 2006 on 8:58 am | In Web 2.0 | No CommentsSearchmash is a test that Google is doing to see how people respond to different styles of search. They intentionally left out the Google brand to get a genuince response from the public, but if you read the terms or check the WHOIS, you’ll notice it is owned by Google.
GeeSee has buzz…
September 5, 2006 on 7:25 am | In Web 2.0 | No Comments…too many Web 2.0 companies to keep track of, but GeeSee is one that interests me, as I’m quite sick of forums, and have been waiting for someone to develop a chat app that works right. In fact, it astonishes me that a widely adopted chat application does not exist. While it wasn’t the end all, Yahoo Chat worked well until it got killed by spammers a few years ago.http://blog.geesee.com/
