Evil Youtube Video of Slain Children?!
May 21, 2008 on 9:26 am | In Personal Rants | 2 CommentsWARNING: This is the most extremely violent and upsetting video I have ever seen in my life, covering footage of a massacre in Indonesia in May 2000, including the killing of women and children. It’s absolutely horriffic. To date 4,000,000 people have viewed this video on Youtube. I personally find it far worse than 2 Girls 1 Cup, disgusting body modification videos of castration, American army helicopters gunning down Iraqi’s, etc…
Anyhow… if you’re brave enough…

Here is an article about the massacre, if you wish to understand more you can search “POSO shame of indonesia” on Google.
MY DISCLAIMER: The reason I decided to post this, is because I wish for some sense to come out of the utterly senseless. I wish for some wisdom, some compassion, some love and appreciation to come to those of us that did not have such a horrible fate. It’s easy for me to say… when faced with evil, distance yourself, do not react violently, try to forgive, seek compassion, and to understand your enemies. However, if my family and children were murdered, I’m unsure how I would muster the strength to overcome my animalistic desire to kill in revenge. I, therefore, know I have a lot to learn myself. I must say I am incredibly grateful to live and raise my son in a mostly safe environment, and I hope that never changes… in fact, I despise war, my governments business in Iraq, and pray for peace on Earth.
Many people are commenting hatred on the Youtube videos towards Christians or Muslims, and they are missing the point. I believe there are Christians -AND- Muslims that value human life, and do not believe in killing. Although I am not a religious man, I do not believe this is about religion. In any event, it’s worth debating, considering, discussing, and preventing.

Divorce can be the most amazing decision!

WARNING - PERSONAL RANT
On this past Saturday, February 16th, 2008, I officially became 100% divorced. My parents and my ex-wives parents did not divorce, and neither did their parents. Needless to say, we each felt a tremendous amount of indirect pressure to live up to our heritage and make our marriage work. We traveled together, moved, bought a beautiful new home, had a child, and went to great lengths to make something out of our life together. We have many amazing memories. However, we kept finding ourselves in complete marital melt down. Finally, 4 years and three marriage counselors later, we decided to get legally separated. We must have debated divorcing vs. not divorcing 30 times, often escalating to great emotion where either or both would curse the marriage and one another. We both swapped stances on the issue over time as well, one pleading for the other not to give up, and then a few months later the tables would turn. A negative emotional momentum built so strong over time that it just ripped us apart. We would automatically trigger it and get enmeshed far too often. We truly lost ourselves in our marriage. At it’s depths, it was impossible to make sense of the space in which we existed. We fought for our marriage to work, as it just got worse and worse.
Thank God her and I are good friends. We have a beautiful son together, who we happily share joint custody of. She has someone special in her life, and while I’m single, I am so grateful for my peace of mind, happiness, and time to heal. It’s true that once you’ve tried everything, you know when it is time to move on. I feel no regret, no second guesses, no what if’s… I know for a fact we were not meant to be, and it’s ok. I learned some powerful lessons about myself, compatibility, love, companionship, devotion, intimacy, etc…
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Please go with your heart today! If you’re in an abusive relationship, get out now! There is nothing more important than your individual happiness. Life is FAR too short! If you know you need to get out, but don’t know where to start, turn to your parents, siblings, and lastly your trusted friends.
My ex-wife told me the following song reminded her of us… so bittersweet.
==================
The Dance - Garth Brooks
Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you’d ever say goodbye
And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn’t I the king
But if I’d only known how the king would fall
Hey who’s to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I’d of had to miss the dance
