Something about these “High Yield Investment Programs” smells like a scam to me. Ever see the movie Boiler Room? It’s alive and kicking right here on the internet… or am I just a fool that is missing out on some great investment opportunities?

How to turn $50 into $1500

This guys blog entry suggests a plausible, yet fairly time consuming, way to turn $100 into roughly $1500. The basic idea is to deposit $50 or so into a Bank of America (or other) account, using their promotion where they match your $50… now you have $100 to invest, and on and on. Some of these tricks get you paid for referrals, which can be a quick way to make $1000 if you can leverage an email list of friends and family.
Personally, I’m not going to waste my time with this, because I get paid too much hourly to waste my time with it… but that’s not to say that it’s not a great way to build an investment portfolio off just $50 dollars!
Oh yea… the blog entry that goes into all the tricks is HERE.

Seeking capital? Check out Prosper.com, the online marketplace for people-to-people lending. As they say, “Join the community that connects trusted borrowers with fair lenders.”
While I haven’t had a need to use this service, I love the concept of marrying two parties, managing their interests, tracking their success, etc…
Not unlike AssetFactory.com!
