How to Argue & Win Every Time!

This book rocks!
Gerry speaks volumes of wisdom in this book, and much like how martial arts teaches you how to avoid violence, Gerry teachs you tactics to conclude arguments quick and with compassion. Gerry puts a lot of soul into his speaking, and teaches you the power of how to get your way without anger.
THE LOCK: I am not a powerful person. Those I face are always more powerful than I. How can I win against them?
THE KEY: All power, yours and theirs, is your.
The secret source of power: When I argue, I face power, the power of the other. Is it the other’s power that I wish to overcome and that I fear? I am therefore fascinated by power and I wish to trace its source. If I understand power, if I understand it’s nature and where it abides, if I understand how to get it and how to resist it, I will have attainted great power of my own. I want power, I need power to win.

Eventually I’ll get around to reviewing Robert Green’s books, at least the two I own which are absolutely amazing. Until then, however, I just learned that Robert has started a blog, which is pretty alright.
Little Red Book of Selling
July 10, 2006 on 11:36 am | In Book Reviews | No Comments
Every once in a great while a book is so good that it is viewed as a reference in it’s field; a book so rich in content that it can only be read, re-read, and studied. This book is exactly that, and I am proud that it sits on the shelf of my personal library of business reference manuals.
Unlike most sales books which focus on “how to sell”, Jeff’s book focuses more on “why people buy”, and man what a difference this approach makes. I’ve always felt that the best sales people in the world never come across as sales people at all… but somehow, in a very genuine way, they come across as a true friend, someone I can trust, someone who makes me laugh, and is out for my best interest. The Little Red Book of Selling digs right into this premise, as in Jeff’s own words, “I create rapport so that the prospect feels like he or she is in my home and can go to my fridge and get a Coca-Cola without asking”.
Not only is the content rock solid, but the book is fun to read, and is so well layed out, you can pick it up for 30 seconds to pluck a nugget of wisdom, or read all 219 pages on a flight. I’ve read a ton of books on sales and the buying process, and you’re either a know it all, or a cheap bastard if you can’t come to spend $20 on the Little Red Book of Selling. Truly, a must have!
